Marines of all ages at the Hearts of Valor Ball, 2008 |
The Hearts of Valor Ball is a tribute to the men and women who have served and are serving our country. This formal and patriotic evening is our premier fundraising event for the Foundation.
We welcome everyone to this most prestigious experience. Active duty military personnel from all braches of our Armed Forces, Reservists, Veteran’s from all conflicts, National Guard personnel, civilians, and family members. It is our privilege to be honoring you on this evening.
The 2008 Hearts of Valor Ball was held on Saturday, February 16 at Meridian Banquets in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. We had the honor of entertaining over 330 people, to include active duty representatives of each of the Armed Forces! How fabulous to hear the individual service anthems played at the beginning of the evening and what a wonderful memorial tribute to see the Color Guard place flags of each branch of service at the Table of Remembrance. Many of our civilian guests included ten delegates of the Village Board of Elk Grove Village, representation from Lt. Governor Pat Quinn’s office, and Congressman Peter Roskam’s office.
WLS-AM 890’s own Jerry Agar served as Master of Ceremonies. The evening included cocktails, dinner, dancing, silent auction, 50/50 drawing, and raffle.
All proceeds from the Hearts of Valor Ball assist The Heart Of A Marine Foundation to provide comfort, support, financial assistance, and educational resources to improve the quality of life of military personnel in all branches of the United States Armed Forces, including veterans and their families.
